Effect of Different Scan Range for CT Imaging on Stress Distribution in Implant and peripheral bone

dental implant

Dental implant therapy is a treatment in which a metal tooth root is implanted in the location of a missing permanent tooth. The implant consists of three parts: fixture, abutment, and superstructure, and has higher esthetics and chewing ability than other treatment methods such as dental implants.

Thread Meaning

Implant threads are the threads of the fixture, and V-shaped threads, square threads, buttress threads, and reverse threads are currently used.

Types of implant threads

Threads have three main meanings
・Increased bone contact area
・Increased initial fixation
・Optimization of stress transfer to bone
Purpose of Research

There are few studies evaluating the stress effects of transverse thread geometry on bone, and the effects of different threads on initial fixation have not been clarified. Therefore, we will investigate the optimal thread shape by conducting stress analysis.
